Meet The Skin Scrubs: What Makes Each One Special

The Greek gods may have played favorites among mortals and demigods, but we definitely can’t play favorites with our sugar scrubs. Each scrub is powerful in its own way, laden with unique blends of oils, antioxidants, and other natural ingredients to nourish and fortify the skin. If you haven’t gotten the chance to try all of them yet, we’d highly recommend it (that said, we may be a little biased). Zeus // Energizing Antioxidant Scrub

This gel scrub is just as electrifying as its namesake, the king of gods and the wielder of lightning. Infused with a pristine blend of olive, kukui nut, and avocado oils, this scrub forms a silky barrier over the skin to shield it from environmental damage. Algae extract and wild geranium oils work to improve the skin’s complexion. Vitamins A, C, and E also help with cell growth and protection against sun damage, while aloe vera and organic polyphenols of green and white tea replenish and protect the skin’s outer surface. 

In addition to sugar granules, Zeus is made of pumice stone granules, which acts as a light exfoliant to gently remove dead cells from the skin’s surface and relieve skin irritation caused by eczema or dry skin. 

Hades // Detoxifying Charcoal Scrub 

Who knew that the god of the underworld was also a great detoxifier? Toxins, heavy metals, chemicals, and oils that sit deep within our pores are no match for Hades —  this is our signature activated charcoal scrub, which removes stubborn impurities from the pores by binding them to the charcoal molecules and drawing them out to be washed away.

Shea butter is also one of Hades’ key ingredients. It’s full of vitamins and fatty acids, which are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. Coconut oil also makes an appearance, flaunting its hydrating and antibacterial properties that leave the skin looking silky and smooth. What’s more, the sugar scrub’s natural glycolic acid breaks down the “glue” that bonds skin cells together, increasing cell turnover and generating fresh, younger-looking skin from below the surface. 

Apollo // Enriching Vitamin Scrub

Dry, flaky skin can find relief at Apollo’s altar: this is our most hydrating sugar scrub, and it’s steeped with some of the purest oils to lock in moisture and nourish the skin. 

Apollo is composed partially of Hawaiian kukui nut oil, which is packed with vitamins and nourishing fatty acids. Kukui nut oil has been used to tackle skin issues like eczema, psoriasis, and dryness for centuries, lauded for its regenerative properties and its ability to easily absorb into the skin. It also fends off fine lines and wrinkles while stimulating collagen production.

Other superstar Apollo ingredients, sunflower seed oil and macadamia nut oil, play a role in hydrating and softening the skin. They also facilitate skin regeneration, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, scars and enlarged pores.

Last but not least, coconut oil leads the charge in restoring the skin’s natural pH levels while treating skin ailments like psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis. Aurora // Revitalizing Coffee Scrub

If the smell of coffee in the morning is enough to get serotonin flowing through your system, this is the scrub for you. Not only does Aurora smell delightful, but it packs a powerful exfoliating punch, given that it’s a unique blend of coffee grounds and sugar granules to gently buff away dead skin cells. The caffeine also acts as an astringent, which tightens the skin and helps boost circulation. Caffeine also stimulates blood flow, which can reduce the appearance of  cellulite, eczema, stretch marks and age spots. 

Aurora is rich in organic coconut oil, shea butter, and sunflower oil, enveloping the skin in a long-lasting, protective moisture barrier. What’s more, the gold mica flakes make this scrub shimmer in true Olympian fashion. 

Gaia // Nourishing Shea Butter Scrub

Gaia is the ancient Greek Earth goddess, and just like Mother Earth does, this sugar scrub nourishes the body with superfoods for glowing, healthy skin. Its primary ingredient is shea butter, which not only aids in moisturizing the skin, but also treating issues such as blemishes, dryness, dark spots, discolorations, stretch marks and wrinkles. Better yet, it does all this without clogging pores. 

Other nourishing ingredients in this sugar scrub include organic coconut oil, sunflower seed oil, organic beeswax, and vitamin E. 

Aphrodite // Microdermabrasion Facial Polish 

The newest scrub to join our family of Olympians is Aphrodite, named after the goddess of love and beauty. This microdermabrasion scrub utilizes very fine crystals to slough off dead cells from the skin’s surface, reducing the appearance of rough skin, blemishes and discoloration on the face. Aphrodite is also infused with avocado, jojoba, hemp and grape seed oils, a powerhouse of moisturizing ingredients that leave skin looking smooth and supple.
